I was a self employed hairdresser for 12 years working with clients within the clients home ,care homes and also going to venues to assist with hair for brides and the bridal party, I completed my NC hairdressing in 1994 where was on placement in a salon in dumfries, then in 2003 updated my training with completion of a HnC hairdressing and salon organisation at Reid Kerr college paisley, where we were lucky enough to work with William Gray using the Daviness colour products, we did competition work competing with other colleges, we reached the final and won the college group award, which we then traveled to Italy to the Daviness college, to learn more from Italian hairdressers, it was an amazing trip which we all enjoyed and where i get a lot of my inspiration. I enjoy all aspects of hairdressing but really enjoy cutting and styling hair where the change of a haircut can enhance and strengthen your natural qualities.

While completing my HnC Beauty Therapy in 2004 I also worked in Stobo castle which was a fantastic experience which I thoroughly adored.

I have recently been trained in wig fitting where I can do wig fitting for NhS and private clients.

I also am a registered wig fitter with the Little Princess Trust which which is a service I very much enjoy.

I have been working in my Thornhill Salon for three years. It has been an amazing leap of faith which has been rewarding with all the fantastic clients that we have and it’s such a picturesque, beautiful part of Dumfries & Galloway to work in.
